A New Poem and Vocaloid

I'll start with poems, since it relates to the Tales of Fabula. Anyways, I new poem has been added to the Hansel and Gretel page! Look under the "Poems" section and you'll find one that's called "Days of our Past". I really like this one, it talks about the events before the actual story, while being told after the events. I made sure to make it rhyme this time, so it's actually real fun to read. Now, if you remember, the poems are tools that will help you better understand the story. For this one, it helps you see certain things from Hansel and Gretel's viewpoint. Like, for an example, how their stepmother always treated them with spite, but they never saw that from her.

Also, if you haven't noticed in the poem, it gives two hints for future stories. One hint is rather clear, but still takes some thinking, while the other one is harder to notice. I think you'll find out in the future what story is what. And you all will be happy to hear that the script for Hansel and Gretel is finished and the script for the next story has just begun. I'm not going to drop any hints right now, but in the near future I'll be leaving clues about the story on my Twitter page.

Now, about a month or so ago, I had just got my first Vocaloid. What is Vocaloid, you might ask? Well, Vocaloid is a voice synthesizer used to make songs. It's mostly popular in Japan, but it's fame is starting to pick up here in the United States. I've been interested for quite some time and thought that I should jump into it. I tested out the Vocaloid I got, who is VY1, in a song cover. The song is from the anime/cartoon, Clannad. Listen to it and let me know what you think. (Warning: This song is in Japanese. If you don't like Japanese or don't care for it, you don't have to listen to it.)

I spent about a week on this, but I know I could have done better. So, you might be wondering why I am mentioning this on a blog that has nothing to do with Vocaloid. Well, I'm a storyteller. And as a storyteller, I try to find new ways to share my ideas. Like, I might draw a simple picture to tell a story. I might write a book to tell my story. I might make a animation to tell my story. So, why not tell my story through music and Vocaloid? That's exactly what I intend to do. Right now, I'm going to try to get English Vocaloids, so there won't be many songs from me.  If you want to hear more music in the future, subscribe to my YouTube channel. It's not that great right now, so you really don't have to. All I do are music videos, songs, and drawing videos. If anything real important is uploaded, I'll share it here on the blog.

Anyways, I hope you are looking forward to future songs and comics that are coming. A new poem will be made in about two weeks, as well as another song after that. Check back here every Saturday for a new post. Until then, take care!

Hansel and Gretel - Prelude of the Curse

So I made a new song for Hansel and Gretel. I actually made this song with Mixcraft 6, instead of my normal microphone and keyboard. I'll probably be making the next few songs with Mixcraft, so let me know if you like it!

"Prelude of the Curse" is based off the events of Hansel and Gretel being abandoned in the forest. The song focuses more on the tragic side of it, unlike the two songs before it, which were more fear based songs. But this song in particular can be seen in a fearful way, but it's more like a personal fear instead of a scary song altogether. But once you read the comic and get to the part where Hansel and Gretel are abandoned, this song will definitely fit the mood.

I'll be making a new poem too, but maybe it'll be during the week. My last post said that the poem will focus more on Hansel and Gretel's life in the woods. It'll also hint at future stories that are related to Hansel and Gretel. I do hope that you are looking forward to it! I'll also be showing some of the comic next week. Until that time comes, take care!

New Song, Poem, and Book in the Works

I have some exciting new products in the works! It's my goal to get the Tales of Fabula recognized by as many people as possible, so I dive into multiple sources of media that are available to me. Most of you have already heard the music I have made, but I want to do something a little more with the music. So far, all my songs are instrumental, which is probably going to be the case for the fairy tales that are in the Fabula series. However, I really want to make a song that has lyrics to it. As it stands, I'm making my normal songs, with just music. However, before the year is over, expect at least one song that has lyrics in it. I'm excited for it, and hopefully you will be too. More information about the song will come in the future.

I also have plans to make a new poem for next week. The poem will most likely center around Hansel and Gretel's life in the woods. The poem will talk about things before the events that take place in the comic and it might give hints to future stories. Most of the time, my poems don't rhyme, so I hope for this next one to have at least some rhyming in it. It's just the way older poems are told, so I want to kind of do that myself. It's not THAT important to me, but I think it would be good to do so once in a while.

Lastly, I wanted to mention that I'm working on a coloring book. It's not really a Tales of Fabula coloring book, but it does feature fairy tale stories. It's actually meant to be for a service project that I'm doing. I am making hygiene kits for a woman's shelter, and as a gift for the kids that they have with them, I'll be giving these books to them. Now to help out with this, I'm leaning to selling these online for maybe $3.00 (not including shipping) and every cent will be donated to the charity. I'm not sure if I'll do this due to production costs, but I really want to do charity things like this. I think it would be a good opportunity to use my skills to benefit someone else who is in need. Let me know what you think and maybe we can make this work.

Not much else to report on, but I am getting ready to make some huge announcements in the coming weeks. I still have the goal to release Hansel and Gretel by next month, and once I do, the next story in line will be revealed. It's going to be awesome!

Updates to the Blog

So I made some changes to the blog, as most of you can probably tell. I like some of the changes I made, but I think with this layout more changes are inevitable. More or less, actually. I plan to update the blog often, some things might even be updated without your knowing. I'll do my best to keep you aware of the updates, but I'm not sure a blog post would be worth it. So to be fully updated on all the changes, go ahead and stay updated with my Facebook and Twitter. My Twitter is more up-to-date than my Facebook, just to let you know.

The "Once Upon a Time" tab is the place where you'll be going to the most to get easy access to the comics pages. As some would notice, I made a post with all the three tabs (Comics, Music, Poems) in one. It'll get updates that I would have made to those tabs. Sooner or later, the post will fade off with the old posts, thus the point for the "Once Upon a Time" tab. This tab will have a link to the post with all the information on it. The tab will also feature future stories that are apart of the same timeline.

The "Store" tab is self explanatory; a page with all the merchandise I'm selling. Currently all I have is Hansel and Gretel, but other stories will be joining it soon. Also, if you take a look at the things I'm selling, there is one that says "Commission". This is an option where you can buy a commission from me. I'll be working on the details, but what you'll most likely have to do is contact me on deviantART and request the commission there. More things will be added to the "Store" page, like handmade objects and merchandise provided by other means.

The "Pictures" tab was something I wanted to add for the longest time. All the art I do for this series will be featured there. I think you'll enjoy the pictures that will appear there. I'll even put fan art up if people send it in. I love drawing, so I'll be adding pictures there every weekend, starting next week. If you like my art style, be sure to visit my deviantART page, where I draw a bunch of stuff outside of the Tales of Fabula.

And the last tab is one I just added for the heck of it. The "About" tab will feature questions I get from people about the Fabula series. It'll probably be the least updated out of the blog, but probably one of the most beneficial. I only have three questions up right now, with more on the way as I receive them.

The blog is easy to get around, with a lot more options than before. I hope you're looking forward to future updates and stories. Remember, if you have any questions or fairy tales that you want to see join the series, just leave a comment. I want to be connected to my fans and just about anyone who thinks my stories are worth looking into. Thanks a ton everyone and I'll see you next week!

He fell in love with a woman named Annie, who was friendly and a good housewife. To their demise, she was an unloving woman when it came to Hansel and Gretel.                              Days of the Past

Back in those woods, we played and sing
Now in this day, we are just puppets on a string
Cursed to be burned by a never ending fire
By he, who has made an unstoppable choir
We now sit in our sufferings, waiting for the light to come

Oh, how great our past life was in that time
Oh, how we loved being in our prime
With parents who loved us without ending
Even if our mother's love was very rending
We didn't notice, so it was pleasing to us

Even living in the woods, we didn't seem to mind
It taught us how to be humble and kind
But we did think of what it must be like to live in a town
But the nearest one was burnt down
All because of one man's greed from golden eggs

If only we could see, see the obvious truth
Then we could have fought the evil in our youth
But now we are under a curse from our own wicked doing
But the Orchestra had corrupted our viewing
Committing a horrible act was the thing we did last
All back in our days, the days of our past

                           Curses of Eternity

What it means to lose it all
What it means to look back at time
The true meaning of this evil action
Will one day be understood by those who fall into her hands
As if there were any reasons to carry out these songs

One would think these actions are pure evil
Yet those mortals carry out their own selfish deeds
They have the courage to carry them out
Those that are their own destruction
Now we go and punish them for their foolishness

This task is heavy, even for the strongest
Wherefore, a deal must be made to the simple minded
Give into their selfish desires so that they may fall
Now they aid in the cursing through their own curse
The curse that never seems to fade away

The fox of deceit, the wolf of evil, and the wizard of confusion
Only the chosen people have seen their music
The music that is constructed by an even greater force
Is it by this force the curses are placed?
It must be, the evil within the selfishness
Are curses that have lived more near to that of "eternity"

                                   Out Past Dark

This feeling is something beyond comprehension
It brings me joy, yet great sorrow to my heart
A feeling that comes only after the sun sets
In this forest that is known as home to many,
An uneasy feeling drifts into my soul like that of hell

Never to stay out past this time, never to travel at night,
Night being the time, darkness shall stay outside
Destruction would follow if no one else did
Why must this feeling be evil?
Where and when did it come into this forest?

Curiosity has lead the way for all who enter the forest
Down the road, surely family awaits there
Hope, in the form of a bird, in the form of feelings
Surely there is hope down this way, as the thoughts flow
Not being the first one on this road, has my family been here?

Night has come and the sun has fallen from the sky
That evil entity, it must have caused this uneasy feeling
When looked upon, it seems to be but a shadow
Paranoia shall not have me, nor others who follow the feelings
It's in that happy moment that a curse had been cast
Cast upon a sorry soul in that forest known as "my" feelings

Quick Status Update and Future Posts

I haven't updated for a long time now and I want to apologize for that. I really wanted to start updating every week so that you'll know about the stories I produce when they come out. I had hoped to get you all excited for it, but I obviously failed at that. I'm sorry for that.

I wanted to make a few quick status updates while I'm at it. My computer caught a virus a few weeks back and it stopped me from saying much on my Twitter. Currently, I'm using my sister's computer to make this blog post. On the bright side to this problem, a good friend of mine will be taking the virus off my computer. The only draw back is that some things on it will probably be erased with it. Yeah, that's pretty bad, but not as bad as going out and buying another computer. Being told that overpowers the fact that a few things will be erased.

While I wait, I will be working more on Hansel and Gretel. The script for the story is just about done, with the comic pages not too far behind. I don't want to make it official or anything, but I am aiming for a release in November. I do have plans that when Hansel and Gretel is released, I'll upload the poster for the next Fairy Tale in the Tales of Fabula comic series. In a way, I have already started it. Nothing to major; I'm only planning what the story will be like. I think it'll be a bit confusing at first, but all will make sense in time.

Also, I want to talk about the future of the blog. I will be doing my best at making blog posts every Saturday. My Saturdays are usually busy with family matters, which is why I resort to night time posts. I'll still be working hard on making the posts. If I get a chance to make in earlier, then I'll take that chance. I also hope to make the blog more interesting with more options and tabs. It takes a lot of research in order to do this, but I hope I can make it work.

I just want to say real quick that the music I'm making for Hansel and Gretel, and most likely other stories as they come, will be free. I was hoping to sell them at first, but I don't think that's a good idea on my part. So when I update my blog in appearance, I'll take away the music part and apply it to the section with the comics. I think the tabs will be changed quite a bit when I get to work on it.

I have a lot of hopes and ideas for this series, and I hope you are looking forward to things in the future. I'll add a picture to every Saturday blog post from now on so that way it'll keep you excited. Be sure to expect posts on days besides Saturday. I might feel like saying something every once in a while. Anyways, I'll see you again soon when the updates return.

Recolored Hansel and Gretel Cover

For weeks I have wanted to recolor the cover to Hansel and Gretel. Today I went ahead and recolored the cover with markers to try and make a better looking cover. It could be me, but I just didn't like how the original cover colors came out. I hope you will appreciate this one. However, if you prefer the original cover colors, let me know and that will be the one on the comic book.

Hansel and Gretel's New Cover
I have been working hard on the comic for weeks and the release date is nigh, so to hype everyone up about it, I'm going to be making updates every weekend will some form of news. Next week I have a new comic page that I feel really proud of and I want to show it to you all.

Also, be sure to Like and Follow me on my Facebook and Twitter pages for quicker updates. Sometimes it's better, but I really appreciate all of those who visit my blog! It's because of you that I manage to find motivation to draw there pictures. Thanks a ton and I hope you are looking forward to next week's update!

Hansel and Gretel - An Old Memory

For this week's update, I have decided to release a new song. This song will be in the Hansel and Gretel soundtrack, which will be available for preorder soon. Please share your thoughts and I hope you are looking forward to the release of the first story in the Tales of Fabula series.

This song has a lot of meaning behind it, as one could probably tell from the title (An Old Memory). The feeling generated from this song is meant to have you think and ponder an old thought, or to think that something is slowly coming back to you. This happens to Hansel and Gretel is the comic, relating to their mother, Sofia.

Next week, I'll be uploading some character bios and concept art the week after that. I might be uploading a few comic pages as a teaser, but if I do, I'll let you know on my Twitter and Facebook pages, which can be found off to the side of the blog. I do hope that you are looking forward to it, as the comic should come very soon.

Progression and Possible Physical Release

Just to make a quick update, a new poem will be released tomorrow. As I have stressed in previous posts, poems are meant to be studied so that the deep secrets of Fabula can be discovered. The poem will talk about a certain "curse" and what lies in store in the future. The reason I'm uploading it tomorrow is because I had to do lots of work with my family and it got me off track. But don't worry, I'm getting back to work tomorrow and the poem will be uploaded for your enjoyment.

The Hansel and and Gretel comic is coming along nicely and it's release will most likely be next week as long as progression remains the same. Now I was thinking about a physical release of the comic, which would come from Indy Planet, but I'm still thinking about it. Share your thoughts on it if that would be a good idea or not. If you didn't know, Hansel and Gretel was actually going to be a download only comic. But after seeing what this self-publishing site had to offer, I might just consider putting the comic up as a physical book.

This month I will be working hard on the music aspect of the series, delivering you new songs that will help unlock the feelings in the story. These songs will most likely be released before the actual comic, so they can only be used with the poems for now. The song I'm currently working on is about the Witch's Gingerbread House, the part that really makes the story scary. I hope you are looking forward to it, as am I!

Remember that I will be updating every other week with new information, unless something needs to be said right away, in which I'll make a quick update about that. I'll have links next week that lead to the Facebook and Twitter pages for the Tales of Fabula.

Plan for the Next Few Months

I haven't been updating as much as I would like, but let me share with you my plans for the next few months. For the coming months, I'll be updating every other Saturday with something new relating to Hansel and Gretel. Most likely it'll be pictures, but I also want to share with you more poems and music, which will add to the feel of the story and the mysteries within.

It may not be Saturday yet, but I wanted to start right away with this new plan! And because of it, I have prepared a special gift for all of you. I went ahead and completed page 1 of Hansel and Gretel! I really hope you like it. A lot of work is being put into these comics to make them good for all of you.

Hansel and Gretel Page 1

To capture the dark nature of what lies in the Fabula Mythos, I added a lot of shady elements to the page. I'm proud of how it looks and I really want to hear from you on how it looks. But comic pages will not be the only thing that'll be uploaded on the update days. I also want to show you all concept art for each individual character that's in the story. I also want to share more poems with you. The poems are meant to be the ultimate resource for uncovering the secrets of Fabula. It'll take time to understand all of them, but they really do help when the time comes for the understanding. And of course, I want to share more music. The music captures the emotions and feelings that are within the Tales of Fabula. As everything comes together, the real story begins to unfold.

I'm not ready to announce the release dates to either the comic or the soundtrack yet, but I hope that the next few months and the updates that come with them can tie you over. I will say that Hansel and Gretel will be coming in early summer. I hope you’re looking forward to it!

Hansel and Gretel - Avoid the Night

In the video above, you can hear my first song that will be in the Hansel and Gretel music pack. I'm only going to be uploading two songs for free, so if you want the full pack, then you'll have to wait for it to be released.

Now I know I'm not the greatest composer, but I do hope my music is alright. I'll try to release another song in two weeks or so. But until then, let me talk with you about what the song "Avoid the Night" is really about.  Sure, it doesn't have any lyrics, but the song is actually a message. If you study the cover of Hansel and Gretel, you can see the moon in the background. That should be your first clue. Gretel mentions often to her family that staying outside past a certain time in the woods causes you to feel a strange feeling, which I will soon create a poem that describes that feeling. But staying on topic, what would happen if you were to stay in the forest in the night? How bad can that feeling really be? Well, while thinking about that question, this song will help you find that feeling.

While the message is described as a feeling, the song is just one part that makes up a story. The other two parts being the Comics and the Poetry. If you read the comic and the poems while listening to the music, you'll get the full feelings that comes in the Tales of Fabula. You can find the comics and poetry in their proper tabs, with more tabs soon to come. Any questions about the music, comics, or even poetry, just ask. I love answering questions.

Tales of Fabula - Hansel and Gretel

The first fairy tale in line for the series is none other than "Hansel and Gretel", which was recorded by the Brothers Grimm. The story of Hansel and Gretel comes from the country of German and is actually very well known. The original story of this tale has a rather serious theme as it is, so taking it and turning it into something with an even more serious theme has taken me a lot of work. Some story plots are still in the works, but I'm doing my best to deliver a memorable story. I want to talk a little bit about the things that will be going into the story itself as the first of many fairy tales in the Tales of Fabula.

Cover for Hansel and Gretel

I have made stories for along time now and one thing that's important with stories is character development. That being said, the characters of Hansel and Gretel need to have backgrounds and reasons for what they do. This story shows Hansel and Gretel at an older age. I guess it really depends on what version of the story you read. Sometimes they will be like, 7 years old. Other times they will be younger or older. In this story, Hansel and Gretel will be around the age of 15. As such, they have the minds of teenagers. Hansel wants to be of good use and tries to show his good deeds through work with his Father, Wilhelm. Gretel is a young woman who dream of her own family that she wants to have in the future. What Gretel lacks in abilities and skills, Hansel makes up for. This goes for Hansel as well. Wilhelm, one of the twin's parents, is a woodcutter. The job doesn't pay much because he doesn't really work for anyone. He chops wood and sends it into town for the people to do whatever they need. The Mother of the twins, who is also their stepmother, Annie despises the children. She loves Wilhelm, but the twins usually get in the way of "alone time". Because of this, she looks for ways of getting rid of them. Much more of the characters develop over the course of the story.

The story takes place in the woods. Here, the family escapes from the "horror" that's found in town. Or so says Wilhelm. Regardless, everything seems to go in the family's favor. The only thing Hansel and Gretel suffer from is friends of the same age. Wilhelm hopes that the fact that they are twins will cover that issue. The forest area helps the family learn more about the world and see the beauty that comes from it. Although, Annie tries to spend as much time inside the house as possible due to her dislike of the wilderness. Over the time in the forest area, Gretel had sensed that staying in the forest past a certain time causes you to feel some sort of strange feeling. She mentions it often and hopes to stay indoors once the moon is out. To keep Gretel happy, Wilhelm doesn't work at night.

Because this is a comic, I aim to make my art the best. My coloring isn't the best, but not to worry; the comic will be in a black and white format. I want to keep you interested in the story as I work on it, so I'll be uploading drawings of the characters every other week. Much of the characters will be developed during the story, but I want to you to know them before the story starts. I'll even do drawing videos of the characters as development of the story continues.

A month before release, I'll have music created for the story. Music will really set the mood of the story. It's best to listen to the music while reading the story, it'll help with your experience in this story. I'll get working on it and try to get the quality to be at it's best. Some characters might have themes that fit their personality, but I'm debating on that.

There is a lot that is going into this story, so I hope you'll anticipate it and enjoy the story as it gradually forms. I hope to put just as much work into the future installments. To go with the story and music, I am writing a few poems that creates mystery. If you study the poems, you might just find answers to questions that develop over time. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I will answer whatever you want as long as it doesn't spoil anything for the story.

First of Many - Tomorrow

Tomorrow will be a big day for the blog! To start of, I'll be adding more tabs so that there will be plenty to look at. When it comes to Tales of Fabula, I strive to make sure that you will feel the intensity. As you probably have noticed, I added a tab called "POETRY". This tab will feature poems and riddles that will help you understand a few secrets in the series. It's very important to have those because without them, the story will be very hard to figure out.

Among other tabs, I'll be adding multiple tabs that relate to art. Some will be fun art that plays around with fairy tales. Others will be serious images. What I would like to do is to create music for Tales of Fabula. The website (which you are currently on) will provide the mystery, the music will provide the theme, and the comics themselves will provide the story. All of these put together will create an unforgettable experience. But alas, that will be tomorrow.

The most important thing is the comics. That being said, I would like to let you all know that the reveal of the first story will be tomorrow, along side the extra tabs! Go ahead and guess what it is. There isn't much to go off of, but I'll give you a hint: there are two main characters in the story. The story circles around these two.

There is a lot of mystery that goes into these stories. I'm excited to see if you can put all of them together and understand the true meaning of the Tales of Fabula. And I hope you are too.

Stories of Old

Hello! I am game developer and artist J. Sanchez, better known to my online audience as SuperGuyverUSA. I mostly use that for fun, so you can call me whatever you would like. Right now I would like to explain what 'Tales of Fabula' really is. To put short, it's a retelling of fairy tales in much more serious theme. This serious theme usually results in the fairy tales to hold off on their "happily ever after".

Before I get to work on the fairy tales, I make a habit of doing research on them so that I know what I am doing. Be warned, these retold stories don't go too far from the original idea, so do your research if you want to find those little secrets that will be in the stories. I really hope to do the story justice while telling the story that I want to.

I don't have much to show, but I will be drawing pictures for you to see and get a good idea of what the style will look like. Fabula itself is a place of shadows, so there won't be much of a shining moment. To keep you updated on these things, I'll link you to my Twitter and YouTube page, which currently are being used for video game development updates and music videos, respectively. I'll do my best for a Facebook page, so look out for that.

I would like to get updates up often, so I'm working my best for this project. More information will be available soon. Check back here every week to see if something new is up. Until then, take care!
